Ok so i want to be known in the community for something that is unique, there are the comebacks, funny and cool moments, etc. So I thought, why not be the man that does all the breaking down and come up with top ten list for fighting game majors. So I thought why not start it off with a top ten that has a very debated subject that people will type comments and say "this list sucks" or "damn you hit it right on the head" I may have a small voice in this community but it might and will shine in a big way.
When I mean matches I look for a lot of things when it comes to a great match. The playing was crazy good, the significant value of the match, and the hype of the crowd and the players playing the match. Now sorry for the bias of the list but it will only be Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom 3 matches. I did a lot of thinking and a lot of video searching, it does not help that I am still gong to school and have a job. But I will try to put this list as not a favoritism of a certain player of hometown crowd, these are matches that were on stream that all of us saw and just hyped up beyond all reason. The With out further delay, the top ten matches of the 2011 fighting game major season p.s. i included some of the world major tournaments as well because of this, it was ever harder to make the list.
No Guard Crush, Offcast, or WNF were in this list.
10.Jewelman vs Mike Ross Evo Online 2K11 Super Street Fighter IV Grand Finals PS3

A well known fight in Mike Ross takes on a unknown E. Honda that I personally know.
Jewelman took mike to the limit in this mirror match and beyond.
It is kinda sad for Mike to get out worked by his own character but mirror matches usually never favor the pro. This was #10 because it was online and the fact that this was the first ever PS3 online tourney for Evo.

9.PR Rog vs Viscant Evo 2k11 Marvel vs Capcom 3 Grand Finals PS3
Now I am just waiting for the "this list is rig this match should be higher." Now before most of you get butt hurt let me give you some thoughts on why this is number 9. This went 3-2 first bracket. Then Viscant downloaded PR Rog and won 3-0. The only reason this made my list is the Tron mixer moment.

8.Mike Ross vs Mago Shadowloo Showdown 2k11 Super Street Fighter IV AE Top 16 Xbox 360
If you don't agree that this should be on the list then you have no soul. A completely dominate match on paper for Fei Long, yet that is why they play the match. We look at it and Mike Ross has been stepping his game up year by year.

I could not include a list without the GYT SSF4 Player of the year. If some of yall remember, this same match happen one year ago when we were introduced to the rising star, can you say redemption. Match starts at 9:03.

5.Combofiend vs Justin Wong Final Round XIV Marvel vs Capcom 3 Grand Finals PS3
Sticking with GYT's MvC3 Player of the year Justin Wong takes on his nemesis or Fiend in this case. When Justin Wong made top 8 in MvC3 i think the community just started getting pissed because its going to be another 10 years, not of MSS but of Justin Wong. Combofiend thought otherwise. The reason this is higher than the Evo 2k11 moment is because even though it was a complete sweep in the first set, the second set was a back and fourth struggle. It is also a continuation of the winners finals. Plus the first major for MvC3.

4.Chris G vs Justin Wong CEO 2011 Marvel vs Capcom 3 Losers Finals Xbox360?
We got a veteran of the game in Justin Wong and a newcomer Chris G. You cannot deny that this is one of the matches for Chris G's coming out party, even though he lost Chris G is here to still have his name in the hat for the best MvC3 player in the world.

3.Nemo vs Poongko Godsgarden 4 Super Street Fighter IV AE Top 16? Xbox360
To be honest, this list could have been nothing but GodsGarden matches, at least 5 of them. But that would be bias, (not like I am already with mostly tournaments from America) but this one stood out do to the back and fourth momentum changes in this match.

2.PR Rog vs Tokido Final Round XIV Super Street Fighter 4 Grand Finals PS3
The second major of the year and no shortage of hype for this match. You got the "Murderface" vs PR Rog, no one saw PR Rog come in to ATL and make it to the finals let alone Grand Finals. This is PR Rog 2rd Defining moment of the year. To beat the nay sayers saying you can never win a tournament with Balrog. Don't forget the fact it was against the best Akuma in the world.

1.Ricky Ortiz vs 801 Strider Super Street Fighter 4
We got our match of the year the first major of the year. How would have though a well known pro against a Abel that came out of no where (Utah actually) and out work Juicebox with Abel. Ricky traveled the gantlet with Abel after Abel. I still cannot believe that Ricky can flip the switch and take out any player when he is on point. Even though it was 3-1 Ricky first set the reset was amazing. As Gootecks says, last game last round this is what its all about. Even though it was anti climactic the ride along the way was crazy.

So there you have my top 10 for 2011. If I get more exposure I will more likely get to do more top 10 list like matches from each tournaments, predictions for top 8 in each tournament majors.
and hopefully top 10 blow-ups from 2011.
